Dead Heat (Alpha & Omega #4) By Patricia Briggs

Now on to book 4 of Alpha & Omega series Dead Heat, I wish I had taken my time with this series as now I have to wait till March 2018 for Burn Bright. But at least I have something else to look forward to next year.

Dead Heat takes places just over three years since the first book Cry Wolf, this time Anna and Charles are off to see an old friend and buy Anna a horse for her  26th Birthday. Unfortunately for Charles and Anna they get involved in a child Kidnapping that involves the Fae and a family connected to the local pack.

This book gives you more insight into Charles, as he is visiting a human friend that is at the end of his life. This is harder on Charles as his friend Joseph has family that are Werewolves but he does not wish that for himself. It was lovely to see him happy with other people who aren’t Anna. It also showed his playfulness which we do not get to see enough of and hope to see more of especially if Anna gets her way.

Reading this book made me miss horse riding, the happiness that Charles gets from riding was evident in the writing.  Even though I didn’t understand everything that was said about riding you don’t feel stupid or confused as the reader is in the same predicament as Anna.

As always an enjoyable read now off to find another series to lose myself in.
