Flame in the Mist (Flame in the Mist #1) by Renee Ahdieh

Flame in the Mist was the book I received out of my May Fairyloot box. I was happy to see this book in the box as it has been on my wish list since i heard of it.
The book follows Mariko the daughter of a prominent samurai, who has grown up believing her only use it to be a wife. She is betrothed to a man her father choice to give him more influence. On route to meet her betrothed she is attacked and end the lone surviver. Mariko decides that she will find out how and why someone would want her dead. Mariko will is her knowledge and her observation to find the truth, but she find out more truth then she every thought she would find.

I like Mariko what other people find her oddness I enjoyed she is a women of knowledge and science. In a world where a women job it to be beautiful and bare children.
There is so much going on in this book that makes me think that this is only the beginning. I believe that this is only the start for Mariko . This book is truly a gripping story with such a vivid and interesting world.
