The Loneliest Girl in the Universe by Lauren James

The Loneliest Girl in the Universe by Lauren James was one of the books that I bought when I was at YALC. The book is being published on the 7th September.

The book follows Romy Silvers the only surviving crew member on the Ship The Infinity. The ship is on a mission to create a colony on a new planet. Romy is the loneliest girl in the universe until she is told that another ship has been sent to join her, with a single boy called J. Their only communication is via email, the emails take months to arrive but Romy start falling for him, but emails from earth and something in J message has Romy worried.

This book was so easy to pick and read, the story hooked me from the beginning. I really liked Romy as a character and could see myself being friends with her, if we were on the same planet and she wasn’t fictional. She handles being in space a lot better than I would if I was on my own in a ship in the middle of the universe.

The story has it all has twist, action, romance, suspense and most important Fan fiction.

If you love young adult sci-fi set in space this is a book is a must read.

I give this book 5 out of 5.
