Secrets in Death (In Death #45) by J.D Robb

Its September so it times for another In Death series book by J.D Robb and this one is number 45.

Secrets in Death follows Eve Dallas as she investigate the death of a gossip reporter Larinda Mars. When Eve starts to dig into the life of Larinda Mar she finds out that she has been digging into other people secrets and blackmailing them, she will keep their secrets for a price. Eve will have to find out if some secrets are worth killing for.

I always find it interesting when the person that is the victim isn’t a very nice human, and there is more people who would want her dead than alive. It’s also interesting the justification for a murder, as Eve stubble into another case and is torn.

This series is one of my favourite so I find it difficult to be completely impartial, the cases are always intriguing. The romantic relationship between Eve and Rourke is one of my favourites, I love their Marriage rule and their connection. The banter between Peabody and Eve make me smile like a loon, you can’t help like a relationship that is based on respect and friendship. The people who Eve has surrounded are so different and so loyal, and it truly seen in this book, when Nadine and Eve get more upset of Mavis life being intruded in than their own.

One of my favorite smaller character is Trina, the hair dresser / beautification that terrified Eve. Eve reaction ever time to Trina make me laugh, Eve would rather face a murder on her own than Trina. I would love a treatment from Trina but I would also be a little scared of her.

This is a great series to get into if you love crime fiction with romance.

I give this book 5 out of 5.
