Undercover Princess (The Rosewood Chronicles #1) by Connie Glynn

Undercover Princess was another book that I was lucky enough to get an advanced copy of. I was looking forward to reading the book, as a little girl (and maybe not so little) it was always a fairytale dream to be a princess.

The book follows Charlotte ‘Lottie’ Pumpkin as she takes her place at the infamous Rosewood Hall a prestige boarding school. Lottie is surprised when she finds out that her roommate is the Crown Princess of Maradova Ellie Wolf. So that Ellie can lead a normal life she has lied about who she is, due to some lies and coincidences people believe that Lottie is the princess. To help Ellie Lottie keeps pretending to be the princess and is trust into a world of royalty, a world which is filled with secrets, intrigue, betrayal and danger. Lottie finds out that the reality of being a princess isn’t a fairytale.

I was a little worried in part when reading the book, due to embarrassing moments that Lottie finds herself in. That was more to do with flash back to my embarrassing teenage moments. As the book progressed I found myself more and more engrossed into the story, I loved the juxtaposition between Ellie and Lotties characters, the rebel princess that does not fit the stereotype of princess and the ‘common’ girl who behaviour is more princess like. I can’t wait to see what trouble Ellie will get Lotties into in her next year at Rosewood Hall. I hope we get to find out more about Jamie as he a very intriguing character, and I would like to see more of his lighter side.

I give this book 4.4 out of 5
