Books I like being Published in October 2017

It’s the being of October so it that time to talk about the books coming out this month, that I am like / looking forward too reading.

3rd October 

Satellite by Nick Lake 

Satellite is about a teenage boy born in space on a satellite called Moon 2. Leo and twins Orion and Libra are finally old enough to go home to earth. They have been ‘parented’ by a team of astronauts since birth and have run countless drills to endure the dangerous trips to earth. Through all that training and preparing may never really prepare them for earth a planet of billion of people.

Origins (Robert Langdon #5) by Dan Brown

Another book that follows Robert Langdon , Harvard professor of symbology and religious iconology. One of Langdons first student at Harvard Edmond Kirsch is holding an event, Kirsch is a billionaire and futurist he want to reveal an astonishing breakthrough. This breakthrough will answer two of the fundamental questions of human existence. At the event things take a turn for the worse and Langdon is forced to escape, now he must find out what Kirsch breakthrough was before its lost forever,

5th October 

The Trouble with Twelfth Grave (Charley Davidson #12) by Darynda Jones 

Charley has a little problem ever since Reyes escaped from a hell dimension that she accidentally trapped him in Reyes hasn’t really been himself. He is more like the son of Satan than before as now he is hell-bent on destroying the world his two heavenly brothers have created.  While Charley has to deal with Reyes being more feral than her used to be husband, she is having to deal with her everyday life with a twist, where normally she is helping uncovering murders this time she is covering one up.

Ringer (Replica #2) by Lauren Oliver

The book again follows Gemma and Lydra as they come to terms with their life after finding out the truth at the Haven institute. Lydra is looking for a place that she belongs, while trying to find a cure for the illness that is destroying her mind. While Gemma is coming to term about what she is and her controlling father, she has to put that i side when she find out that her father has hired men to find Lydra. Gemma and her boyfriend leave to warn Lydra, but a case of mistaken identity cause Gemma and Pete to be caught in her place and now Gemma is behind the walls at the New Haven institute.

The Fandom by Anna Day

Violet and her friends are off to Comic-Con with their Cosplay ready. The are exited to meet the Fandom of the mega movie, The Gallows Dance. Something weird happens and in a freak accident into their favourite world – for read. Now the friends have to come together to get the plot back on track and get out, as they deal with love guilt and fear. 

9th October 
The Girl who drank the moon by Kelly Barnhill 

Every year, the people of the Protectorate leave a baby as an offering to the witch who lives in the forest. They hope this sacrifice will keep her from terrorizing their town. But the witch in the forest, Xan, is kind and gentle. Xan rescues the abandoned children and deliver them to welcoming and loving families on the other side of the forest, nourishing the babies with starlight on the journey. One year, Xan accidentally feeds a baby moonlight instead of starlight, filling the ordinary child with extraordinary magic. Xan decides she must raise this girl, she calls  the girl Luna, and raises her as her on. To keep young Luna safe from her power, Xan locks her magic deep inside her. When Luna approaches her 13th birthday, her magic begins to emerge on schedule–but Xan is not their. Meanwhile, a young man from the Protectorate is determined to free his people by killing the witch. Soon, it is up to Luna to protect those who have protected her–even if it means the end of the loving, safe world she’s always known.

19th October 

The Treatment by C. L Taylor 

All sixteen year old Drew Finch wants is to be left alone. She is not interested in spending time with her mum and dad or her troublemaker of a younger brother Mason. When Mason is expelled from school and sent to a residential reform academy she almost relieved not to have to deal with him. One day everything changes when Drew is followed home from school by mysterious Dr Cobey who claims to have a message from Mason. There is something sinister about that school and the ‘treatment’ her brother is undergoing. To help her brother Drew must infiltrate the Academy and find out its deepest, darkest secrets.
