The Treatment by C.L. Taylor

The Treatment is another book that I received when I was at YALC, I was lucky enough to meet the author and get it signed. This is the first YA book that C.L Taylor has written, but she has written several other psychological thrillers. The Treatment is realised on the 19th October 2017.

This book follows Drew Finch a sixteen year old girl, who life is turn up side down when she receives a note from her brother from a mysteries woman. Her brother is currently staying at residential reform academy after being expelled from another school. The note tells Drew that he is not being reformed but brainwashed. When no one takes Drew seriously she decides to get herself sent there to help save her brother, but it wont be as easy as Drew thought.

The book was gripping, I was sucked into the story from the very beginning. I found Drew a very relatable character and that made the stake higher as you want her to be ok. As the book reaches it climax I was holding my breath gripping the book completely engrossed into the story. I think part of the story that makes the book spine chilling is that I wouldn’t be surprised if this was happening or ended up happening.

If you like psychological Thriller I would advise you to give this book a read, I will be differently be reading C.L Taylor other book.

I give this book 4.8 out of 5.
