A Shiver of Snow and Sky by Lisa Lueddecke

A Shiver of Snow and Sky was on my watch list, and I was really happy to see it in my October Book Box Club box.

A Shiver of Snow and Sky follows Osa a seventeen that lives on the island of Skane. Just as Osa was born the sky turned red, and a plague was unleashed on the island causing the death of hundreds of people even Osa mother. Seventeen years later and the sky is turning red again, Osa want to know why this is happening and how can save her village, to find this out Osa must journey to the top of the mountain to seek counsel from the goddess. The journeyΒ will test Osa like nothing has ever before.

This book for me is more about the journey than the final destination (although the ending is great). The book splits it Osa journey to the moutain and and Ivan Journey with warning and prepearing the other Villiages for what it to come. I like reading the different stories as it give you a better idea of the situation, but also a better idea of each character as you get to see them though each other eyes.

I have never read a book where quickly hated a set of character as much as I hated Osa father and sister, that when I was reading the book I became so angry. Which is fun trying to explain to your family that your not angry at them but at fictional characters. I think the way in which Ivan stick up for Osa made him warm to him more as a character, he was the good part in Osa hard life.

This book invited you into a beautiful but harsh world of Skane, and draws you into the world of Stars and the Goddess. This book is a great winter read, when we are all wrapped up nice and warm we can go and have an adventure in the snow.

I give this book 3.9 out of 5
