The Freedom Broker (Thea Paris #1) by K.J Howe

The Freedom Broker is the heart pounding thriller of a debut novel by K.J Howe.

The Freedom Broker introduces us to Thea Paris one of the worlds most elite Kidnap and Ransom negotiator, she is also the only female in her field. Thea is use to high risk operations, she is willing to do what ever it takes to get her hostage out alive.

Thea next case is the toughest case of her career, her father Christos Paris billionaire oil tycoon has been kidnapped from his private yacht, days before his is to bid for a world altering deal. With no random demands and only cryptic text messages left in Latin, Thea knows it will take everything in her arsenal to save her father. As Thea try’s to deal with her fathers kidnapping she also have to deal with the traumatic memories of her brother Nicos 20 years ago, all while hiding her diabetes from her colleagues. This will test Thea like never before.

It took me a couple of chapters to get into the story, but once I did I was completely hooked. I found Thea such an interesting and kick ass character, she is smart and capable. She can look after herself, although it doesn’t hurt to have Rif her childhood friend watching her back. Thea Paris is one of the most interesting character I have read in this genre all year.

The Freedom Broker has some great character relationship, and I enjoyed seeing that the character see their relationship differently. At the beginning of the book I only saw Thea perception of Rif and their relationship, but once I read Rif point of view it completely changed my view. It made me see the first couple of chapters in a different way.

This story had so many twist and turns I was still stunned by the ending. The book has different plot that are beautiful woven into the story and you its come together at the end. This is prefect book for anyone that like crime and mystery but doesn’t want the standard murder case.

The second book in the series is to be published in the UK on the 3rd April 2018 and it’s called Skyjack. This book is already on my TBR list for 2018.
