The world of Everless is one of the most interesting worlds in the Young Adult universe. The concept of the time being locked in are blood, and can be bartered with it a little scary, I don’t think I would want to know how much time I had left.

I liked Jules as a character, she is tough and smart and isn’t willing to give up.  After everything she has gone through growing up, as well with her father she is still willing to place herself in danger to find out the truth and protect the people she cares for. I also like the fact the her first reaction is to fight.

‘Reflex take over, and I see everything happening slowly, as if we’re suspended in honey. It’s happening again – time pausing, even the air unmoving, though no one seems to know it. The man’s grin fixed on his face. Amma’s horrified expression, a gasp caught halfway from her throat. I reach for my knife in my belt and bring it in front of me, meaning only to stop him.’

One thing that did surprise was that even though Jude doesn’t like him and try to stay away from Liam, they is something about his character that makes me think he isn’t all bad. He is one of the characters that I hope we get to see more of in the next book.

Conclusion

This book is a captivating YA fantasy, the book has the perfect amount of action, romance, drama, fantasy with some great twists added to the mix.

I give this book 5 out of 5.
