A deadly infection is spreading though the world, turning humans into creatures  called Weepers that want to kill humans for their blood. The only people who can protect human are a race of vampires called Silvers. In exchange for their protection human would have to donate their blood and be subservient to their wishes.

On her way home from work, Emmy is attacked by a group of Weepers but it saved at the last-minute by a Silver call Drew, a mysteries “man” who leaves Emmy with more questions than answers. When he informs Emmy what she will need to do to gain protection from the Silver, she escapes as she doesn’t want to be enslaved and she is also confused on her attraction to Drew.

It doesn’t matter how much Emmy tries to escape she is bought in, and meet the head of the Silvers there Primus Solomon. He confusions matters even more for Emmy as she doesn’t want to like any of the Silver for what they are doing to the human race, but she can’t help being intrigued. Her unwilling to submit makes he more interesting to the Sliver, but some like her rebellious side and other don’t, and the one that dont have no problem with getting rid of her permanently.

As her connection deepen with some of the Slivers, she must decided is her need to rebel the most important thing to her, but has can she make the right decision when she doesn’t know who to trust.

With dystopian fiction I am use to virus that turn people into Zombies, so I really liked this change that the virus turns human into creature of the Vampire nature. It makes them more dangerous than the normal slow Zombies.

Emmy is a character that you will either like or not, I liked that she sassy and spoke her mind to the Silver, I really liked it when she shouted an apology to Solomon for bleeding on his floor. I do not always agree with her choices, but everyone deals with apocalyptic event. (Me I would have gone straight to the Safe house, I do not have the skills to survive on my own.)

Solomon is a really interesting character, he says all the right things but  there is something I don’t completely trust. I don’t know if it’s that he is a politician and he will say what ever he must to win.

I did guess certain things but that didn’t spoil my enjoyment of the book. Bargain in Sliver has a great mixture of action and romance that kept me hooked, I even started look at getting books 2, 3 and 4.

I am really interested in seeing what happens next between Drew, Emmy and Solomon in the books to come.

I give this book 4.5 out of 5.
