Book Review: Outside by Sarah Ann Juckes

Hi Mo Charaid,

Outside by Sarah Ann Juckes is a proof I got my hands on when I was at this years YALC. Outside is being sent out into the world on the 3rd January 2018. I thought it would  be a good time to read it.

Ele has started to find the proof that the outside does exist.

Ele has been locked in a room for as long as she can remember. She believed that the world was just was inside her room, but when she finds a hole the outside starts to leak into the inside.

Once a week “Him”, than man who holds her captive will visit. Ele will have to make the brave choice of trying to escape to the outside or stay inside.

Outside is a surprising heartfelt and emotional read.

The way in which Ele views the world is magical and heartbreaking at the same time.  Her reference point for life is things she has seen in a fairytale book. I feel like we all should be call cars Dragons, because taking a ride on Dragon sound like a better way to get to work.

I was a little confused at the beginning of the book, about who was in the room with Ele. This is answered later on and the book, and it make sense. Heartbreaking sense.

Outside is all about Ele, and her journey. If you love stories that are about the emotional growth of the main character, I would advise you to pick it up.

My rating for Outside is 4 out of 5.
