Book Review: The Anomaly (The Anomaly Files #1) by Michael Rutger

Hi Querido Amigo,

Today book review is The Anomaly by Michael Rutger. When I read the synopsis, and saw it was in the same wheel house of the Dan Brown books, it got me intrigued.

Nolan  and his web series team sets out to retrace the steps of an explorer from 1909 .

This explorers note claim that there is a mysterious cavern in the Grand Canyon. There is something different to this expedition they actually find what they are looking for. Then the trip takes a nasty turn, and the cave begins turning against them in mysterious ways.

Nolan’s and his team must survive against seemingly impossible odds. The only way out is to answer a series of intriguing questions: What is this strange cave? How has it remained hidden for so long? And what secret does it conceal that made its last visitors attempt to seal it forever?

The Anomaly is a mix between Dan Brown and Indiana Jones, adventure meets horror.

The beginning of the book starts off slow as it introduces you to this world and characters. As the book continues the pace gains speeds till towards the end it feels like your heart is going to burst out of your chest.

Nolan is the lead character of the book, and the host of the web series The Anomaly. The book is told from Nolan POV, I found this really easier to read and his inner monologue is very entertaining.I enjoyed the “banter” between Nolan and Ken. They have that type of relationship where you can say anything to each other, without being offended.

Several different twist that kept will keep you guessing about what is going to happen and who you can trust.

Archeology has always been an interest and I am looking forward to seeing what Nolan and it team find out next.

My rating for Anomaly is 4 out of 5.

Thank you to Bonnie Zaffre for sending me a copy of The Anomaly for a fair and honest review.
