Books I am looking forward to coming out March 2019

Hello Lieber Freund,

March is now upon us. It time to look at the books coming out this month that I am looking forward to.

5th March

Book: Bloodleaf

Author: Crystal Smith

Publisher: HMH Books for Young Readers

ISBN13:9781328630049

Synopsis: Aurelia is the first princess born to the Renalten crown in two hundred years, destined to fulfill a treaty by journeying to marry Valentin, the prince of Achelva – Renalt’s greatest enemy. Rumors of an unwell, cruel prince abound, and the only thing that eclipses Aurelia’s apprehension of her impending marriage is her fear of those who’d kill her to prevent it.

When an assassination attempt forces Aurelia to use forbidden magic to save a stranger, she is driven from Renalt by the witch-hunting Tribunal and a mob out for blood. But before she can claim asylum in the court of her betrothed, her travel party turns on her, forcing her to trade places with her treacherous lady-in-waiting, Lisette.

Now penniless in Achleva and bereft of her identity, Aurelia must decide if she wants to surrender to her new life or fight for her old one, all while navigating the complicated ties binding her to the enigmatic prince, the unquiet ghost of an ancient queen, and a poisonous plant called bloodleaf.

Aurelia is a pawn in a centuries-long game of love, power, and war— and if she can’t extricate herself from it before Lisette marries Valentin in her stead, she may face losses far more devastating than her crown.

Gem’s Thoughts: I am a sucker for a princess story especially when it deal was war and deception.

Book: The Shadow Glass

Author:Rin Chupecco

Publisher: Sourcefires Books

ISBN13: 9781492660606

Synopsis: Tea is a bone witch with the dark magic needed to raise the dead. She has used this magic to breathe life into those she has loved and lost…and those who would join her army against the deceitful royals. But Tea’s quest to conjure a shadowglass—to achieve immortality for the one person she loves most in the world—threatens to consume her heart.

Tea’s black heartsglass only grows darker with each new betrayal. And when she is left with new blood on her hands, Tea must answer to a power greater than the elder asha or even her conscience…

Gem’s Thoughts: This is the third book in the Bone Witch series, the second book in the series The Heart Forger on my TBR. I think I am going to read the books back to back.

Book: Wild Country

Author: Anne Bishops

Publisher: Ace Books

ISBN13:9780399587276

Synopsis: There are ghost towns in the world—places where the humans were annihilated in retaliation for the slaughter of the shape-shifting Others.

One of those places is Bennett, a town at the northern end of the Elder Hills—a town surrounded by the wild country. Now efforts are being made to resettle Bennett as a community where humans and Others live and work together. A young female police officer has been hired as the deputy to a Wolfgard sheriff. A deadly type of Other wants to run a human-style saloon. And a couple with four foster children—one of whom is a blood prophet—hope to find acceptance.

But as they reopen the stores and the professional offices and start to make lives for themselves, the town of Bennett attracts the attention of other humans looking for profit. And the arrival of the Blackstone Clan, outlaws and gamblers all, will uncover secrets…or bury them.

Gem’s Thoughts: The world of the Other has interested me since the book 1, I am interested to see what is still going on this world.

Book: Daisy Jones and the Six

Author: Taylor Jenkins Reid

Publisher: Hutchinson

ISBN13: 9781786331502

Synopsis:Everyone knows Daisy Jones & The Six, but nobody knows the reason behind their split at the absolute height of their popularity . . . until now.

Daisy is a girl coming of age in L.A. in the late sixties, sneaking into clubs on the Sunset Strip, sleeping with rock stars, and dreaming of singing at the Whisky a Go Go. The sex and drugs are thrilling, but it’s the rock and roll she loves most. By the time she’s twenty, her voice is getting noticed, and she has the kind of heedless beauty that makes people do crazy things.

Also getting noticed is The Six, a band led by the brooding Billy Dunne. On the eve of their first tour, his girlfriend Camila finds out she’s pregnant, and with the pressure of impending fatherhood and fame, Billy goes a little wild on the road.

Daisy and Billy cross paths when a producer realizes that the key to supercharged success is to put the two together. What happens next will become the stuff of legend.

Gem’s Thoughts: This is Goldsboro book of the month for march, I love the look or the book and interested to see what happens.

7th March

Their idyllic life is torn apart when a secret is uncovered that threatens not only their family but humanity’s entire existence. Lowrie and Shen face an impossible choice: in the quiet at the end of the world, they must decide who to save and who to sacrifice.

Gem’s Thoughts: I loved Lauren James first book The Loneliest Girl in the Universe, I am looking forward to read this book.

12th March

Book: Izzy + Tristan

Author: Shannon Dunlap

Tristan is a chess prodigy who lives with his aunt and looks up to his cousin, Marcus. He and Izzy meet one moonlit night, and together they tumble into a story as old and unstoppable as love itself.

Gem’s Thoughts: This sounds like such a sweet YA RomCom.

21st March

Gem’s Thoughts: I ordered this book when I read the description, not realising it the second book in the series. So I need to buy and read Sorcerer to the Crown.
