Book Review: Wolf Gone Wild (Stay a Spell #1) by Juliette Cross

Hi Cara,

Today I am reviewing Wolf Gone Wild by Juliette Cross. This is the first book in the Stay a Spell series. I have read the other books in the series  so it nice to read how it all started. I listened to the book from audible who where narrated by Johanna Fairview and Aiden Snow.

Synopsis

What's the worst thing that can happen to a werewolf? Unable to shift for three months, Mateo Cruz knows all too well. His wolf has taken up residence in his head, taunting him night and day with vividly violent and carnal thoughts. Convinced he's cursed, he needs the help of a powerful witch before he literally goes insane.

Evie Savoie has always obeyed the house rules of her coven — no werewolves. They're known for being moody and volatile. So, when a distempered, dangerous werewolf strolls into the bar and almost strangles one of her late-night customers, she's ready to bounce him through the door. But the desperation in his eyes when he begs her to help him softens her heart and convinces her to bend the rules.

What Evie doesn't know is that Mateo's wolf has a mind of his own. And now that she's in his sights, he wants only one thing. Her.

Opinion

Wolf gone wild is a lovely steamy slow burn urban fantasy romance

PLOT: Wolf gone wild follows Mateo Cruz and Evie Savole as Evie help Mateo unlock his magical bound wolf.  As they look into the mystery of Mateo, Evie and Mateo friendships grows and we get introduction to this magical world, as Evie family.

I love the nerdy element, the sisters relationship, jerk ex’s and the mouthy Alpha wolf that lives inside of Mateo. It a slow burn romance so smut comes later.

CHARACTER: I love the juxtaposition between Alpha and Mateo, Alpha is blunt with his needs and his opinion. Where Mateo is artistic loner who is aware of his strength and power.

I really like Evie, she is such a nerd who is a glass half full attitude.  I would like to be her friend.

WRITING / NARRATING: I loved the narrators Johanna Fairview and Aiden Snow they bring the fun and the flirtiness of the story.

I enjoy Juliette Cross writing I no i am going to get a mystery, romance, and fun.

THEMES: Romance, Fantasy, Witches, Urban Fantasy, Mystery, Werewolves, smut

Overall a really enjoyable urban fantasy romance, easy to listen to and get lost in a fun story.

My rating for Wolf Gone Wild is 4 out of 5.
