Nyxia (The Nyxia Triad #1) by Scott Reintgen

I was lucky enough to get an advanced copy of Scott Reingen debut novel Nyxia, In my Illumicrate box. This book was on my watch list so I was very exited to read it.

The book follows Emmett Atwater as Emmett is leaving Detroit, the Babel Corporation has recruited him and will pay him handsomely to go to another Planet called Eden. Emmett can’t turn down that much money, as it will give him the money to look after his mum and dad for forever.  Babel motives are unknown, but Emmett doesn’t have time to focus on that as Babel will only take 8 out of 10 to Eden, he has to compete against the other recruits to earn his place. Babel are trying to test are turning Emmett into someone he doesn’t want to be, Emmett has some hard decisions to make. Either win at any cost or find a way to fight with out compromise what it means to be human.

The book is gripping from the start, the story is interesting and at great twist on the space genre.  In the book the recruits earn points, and seeing the score boards really up the suspense more so at the end. One of the things I really enjoyed with this book is that I never guessed any part of it, I was always surprised with the twist. I tried to go to sleep while thinking what could Babel but up too, that how much I got into the book.

This book is for anyone that has enjoyed books like, The loneliest Girl in the Universe, Flashfall, Hunger Games etc. If you enjoy Young adult Sci-Fi and this book isn’t already on your TBR list you need to add it.

I can’t wait to read the next book.

I give this book 5 out of 5.
