Book Review: Pendulum (Pendulum Trilogy #1) by Adam Hamdy

Hi Mon Amie,

It time for me to start a new crime thriller series. I picked Pendulum by Adam Hamdy, the last book in the series comes out this month. It seemed like a good idea to a Pendulum bender.

John Wallace wakes up confused, disoriented with a noose around his neck.

A strange man in a mask tightening the noose and telling his to stand. Why does the man want John dead? and why make it look like suicide?

A stroke of luck and John make a run for freedom. John must find out why someone what him dead, before he catches up and kills him.

Pendulum is a heart racing, Neve racking crime thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

The premise of the book kept me hooked, I loved trying to figure out why John was targeted. The reason in the end was something I would never guessed, but it a very modern motive. This is an element I am enjoying in crime fiction where the still and motive has a more modern twist.

Pendulum was like reading a crime thriller film or TV series, every chapter playing out like a scene in my mind. There is plenty of action, even the quieter moment are tense with what might happen next. as John is following the lead you never know where the story will go next. There is several times, when I had to re-read a page as I was shocked with what had happened.

We are introduced to a great mixture of character in Pendulum, and it surprising how quickly you connect to them. One of the character had me crying by the end. John Wallace is a great lead character and I am exited to read what happen next in Freefall.

My rating for Pendulum is 5 out of 5.
