Book Review: The Perfect Assassin (The Chronicles of Ghadid #1) by K.A Doore

Hi Amiga,

Today review is all about The Perfect Assassin by K.A Doore, The perfect assassin is the first book in The Chronicle of Ghadid.

Amastan is a novice assassin, questioning if this is the life for him.

When he finds out that there is a ban on contracts, he doesn’t have to make the tough decision.

Until Amastan finds the body of a drum chief, one of the most important people in Ghadid. He is ordered to solve the murder before the Assassin family gets blamed. It’s not long before more bodies show up dead, their Jaan running wild.

Every life has its price, but when the tables are turned, Amastan must find this perfect assassin or be their next target.

The Perfect Assassin has the three M, mystery, murder and magic.

Jaan plays a major part in the book, and I found them fascinating. I would describe Jaan as soul/ghost that if not put to rest after death goes wild and can possess people and even cause death. The murder is disrespecting the people by making sure the bodies aren’t found straight away so the Jaan go wild. I am interested in finding more out Jaan and the wild.

Amastan is my type of lead, he is a book nerd. His day job is of a historian and enjoys being surrounded by scrolls. I like the fact that his nerdiness is shown in his planning and investigation. He isn’t the type to jump in feet first.

Also, Amastan is awkward and is unsure what to do when someone flirts with him. It’s so sweet. The person that is flirting with Amastan is Yufit, who is another man. It seems that Ghadid is not bothered with a same-sex relationship as it’s not questioned at all. There are more questions regarding Amastan likes someone that the person gender.

The main force is the murder mystery, which is intriguing and through it, you find out more out the history of Ghadid. I did figure out the who the bad guy was and the reason why before it’s announced in the book. But that didn’t spoil my enjoyment.

My rating for The Perfect Assassin by 4 out of 5.
