Book Review: Trapped (The Iron Druid Chronicles #5) by Kevin Hearne

Hi Cara,

My Iron Druid Chronicles binge continues,  now I am on book 5 of the series which is called Trapped.

After twelve years of secret training, Atticus O’Sullivan is finally ready to bind his apprentice, Granuaile, to the earth and double the number of Druids in the world.

But on the eve of the ritual, the world that thought he was dead abruptly discovers that he’s still alive, and they would much rather he return to the grave.

Having no other choice, Atticus, his trusted Irish wolfhound, Oberon, and Granuaile travel to the base of Mount Olympus, where the Roman god Bacchus is anxious to take his sworn revenge—but he’ll have to get in line behind an ancient vampire, a band of dark elves, and an old god of mischief, who all seem to have KILL THE DRUID at the top of their to-do lists.

(Synopsis from Goodreads.com)

Twelve years have passed between Tricked and Trapped and it’s finally time for Granvaile to become a full druid. The way that she is bound to the earth and how her animal forms are picked were fascinating.

Several things that have happened or Atticus has previously done has come back to bite him in the derriere. This means that the book is faced paces as there is something going on.

I loved that Granvaile has come a read badass and that Atticus would happily say what she is better than him at. Also that it makes him proud.

Finally, Granville can hear Oberon I can’t wait to hear more of there conversations. I wonder what Oberon will talk Granvaile into. Maybe Oberon will get a french poodle.

In Trapped we finally get to see more of Tir Na Nog, I love the different area they have. It also gives a new theory to the disappearance of Amelia Earhart.

Trapped like all the previous Iron Druid Chronicles have dome amazing and funny one-liners and quotes. Below are some of my favourite.

“Lie down and offer you throat. No, Wait, that’s how dogs submit. I know! Offer her your wallet!”

“They never predict anything fun,” Granvaile answered. “Just once I’d like to hear a prophet tell someone, Thou Shalt win a bitchin’ Camaro on a game show.”

“Atticus ” Three kinds of cat shit, Oberon.” Oberon, ” and an Arrogant family of squirrels.”

Again I listened to the audiobook of Trapped and as always a top-notch performance.

Trapped ending left me excited to read what happens next, Also how many more Gods so you think Atticus can Piss off?

My rating for Trapped in 4.8 out of 5.
