Book Review: A Vow so Bold and Deadly (Cursebreaker #3) by Brigid Kemmerer

Hi Cara,

Today on my blog I am reviewing the third and final book in Brigid Kemmerer Cursebreaker Trilogy, A Vow so Bold and Deadly. Below are the links to my reviews of the first and second book.

  1. A Curse So Dark and Lonely
  2. A Heart So Fierce and Broken

Face your fears, fight the battle.

Emberfall is crumbling fast, torn between those who believe Rhen is the rightful prince and those who are eager to begin a new era under Grey, the true heir. Grey has agreed to wait two months before attacking Emberfall, and in that time, Rhen has turned away from everyone—even Harper, as she desperately tries to help him find a path to peace.

Fight the battle, save the kingdom.

Meanwhile, Lia Mara struggles to rule Syhl Shallow with a gentler hand than her mother. But after enjoying decades of peace once magic was driven out of their lands, some of her subjects are angry Lia Mara has an enchanted prince and a magical scraver by her side. As Grey’s deadline draws nearer, Lia Mara questions if she can be the queen her country needs.

As the two kingdoms come closer to conflict, loyalties are tested, love is threatened, and a dangerous enemy returns, in this stunning conclusion to bestselling author Brigid Kemmerer’s Cursebreaker series.

A Vow So Bold and Deadly is a fantastic ending to amazing young adult fantasy.

I part read and part listened to A Vow So Bold and Deadly. Regarding the Audio performance, I loved that they had different narrators for Harper, Rhen, Grey and Lia Mara. The narrators are Melissa Bayern, Kate Handford, Davis Brooks and Matt Reeves. I really enjoy the performance, especially Grey and Rhen voices.

A Vow so Bold and Deadly had me anxious throughout the whole book. I felt like I  was a friend stick in the middle. Hoping my other friends would make the right decision and make up.

The way Brigid constructed the plot surprised me, I thought the book would go one way, but it went another. The plot is entertaining, fast-paced with great emotional moment and drama.

If you enjoy retelling, YA romance, fantasy than pick up this series in either E-book, physical or Audio format.

My rating for A Vow So Bold and Deadly is 5 out of 5.

Thank you to Netgalley and Bloomsbury UK Audio for gifting me a copy of the audiobook for review.
