Book Review: Broken Homes (Rivers of London #4) by Ben Aaronvitch

Hi Cara, Today on my blog I am reviewing book 4 in Ben Aaronvitch River of London series Broken Homes. The previous books in the series are;

1. River of London.

2. Moon Over Soho

3. Whisper Under Ground.

Synopsis

A mutilated body in Crawley. Another killer on the loose. The prime suspect is one Robert Weil; an associate of the twisted magician known as the Faceless Man? Or just a common or garden serial killer?

Before PC Peter Grant can get his head round the case a town planner going under a tube train and a stolen grimoire are adding to his case-load.

So far so London.

But then Peter gets word of something very odd happening in Elephant and Castle, on a housing estate designed by a nutter, built by charlatans and inhabited by the truly desperate.

Is there a connection?

And if there is, why oh why did it have to be South of the River?

Opinion

Broken Homes adds more and more strangeness into Peter life.

When I started reading Broken Homes I did not think it would end up as it did. The end 1/4 of the book where it's full of tension. The other 3/4 is its normal funny, interesting characters and an engaging crime story.

I don't feel like a can say much more without spoiling elements, especially the main revelation at the end.

My rating for Broken Homes is 4 out of 5.
