Book Review: Revenge & Rapture (The Jezebel files #3) by Deborah Wilde

Hi Cara,

Revenge & Rapture is the final book in Deborah Wilde, The Jezebel files. Again I am reviewing the audio version of the book.

Ash is tightening the noose on her enemies…
… and losing her grip on reality.

Ash’s revenge plans for Chariot and Isaac Montefiore take a surreal turn when Isaac’s wife hires Ash to retrieve an item that Isaac is obsessed with finding. Ash takes the job, but this quest throws her back into Levi’s path and puts Rafael in grave danger.

Meanwhile, Ash runs across a crime victim who possesses mysterious magic. Ash’s search for the attacker once again pits her against the Queen of Hearts and sends Ash down the rabbit hole of what’s real. Sanity is highly overrated, anyway, right?

To top it all off, Ash’s mother is being blackmailed by someone threatening to expose Ash as a Rogue unless Talia resigns from her political career for good. Talk about putting the “fun” in family dysfunction.

Secrets, vengeance, and magic collide in the final chapter of The Jezebel Files. With love, family, and her enemy’s immortality on the line, a con set in motion fifteen years ago comes to an explosive conclusion, and Ash only has one chance to come out alive.

(Synopsis from Goodreads.com)

Revenge & Rapture brings the Jezebel files to a satisfying conclusion. As Revenge & Rapture is the final book there are certain things I expected, which were delivered. Although the route the ending took did take me by surprise and kept the story interesting.

Ash is still on top form with her sarcasm and quick wit. This gives the humour it needs with all the mystery, drama and angst.

There is a lot going on in Revenge & Rapture, lots of mini-plots strands working into the main big evil. I enjoyed how much is going on, as it reflects how busy and stressful Ash life has become.

There is a good amount of romance and action. Especially within the last 20% of the book.

Overall Revenge & Rapture has a narrator that is easy and enjoyable to listen too. I will miss these character especially Levi Montefiore.

My Rating for Revenge & Rapture is 4.3 out of 5.
