Book Review: Say You’re Sorry (Sacramento #1 Romantic Suspense #22) by Karen Rose

Hi Dorogiye druz’ya,

Karen Rose is one of my favourite author, so I am always happy to get my hands on a new book from her. Say you’re Sorry its set in a new location of Sacramento, I am exited to meet a new bunch of characters.

Daisy Dawson has had enough of being in hiding and being a victim.

Daisy determined to live her life  her way and experience as much as she can. This including getting to know the dark and serious FBI agent she meets when she fights off a masked attacker late one night.

Special Agent Gideon Reynolds has tried hard to put his past behind him. But his past comes to back to haunt him when Daisy Dawson pulls a necklace of her attacker neck. The necklace connect back to the violent cult that Gideon was raised in till he escaped at 13 years old.

It soon becomes clear that Daisy’s attack was just the beginning. Now the bloodied bodies of young women are showing up all over California, As Gideon tries to find the killer, it’s clear that Daisy is in more danger than they ever realised…

Say You’re Sorry is a compelling crime mystery sprinkled with heartwarming romance.

Daisy and Gideon have great chemistry together, their banter is entertaining. They also work well as a team, and know what the other one needs in that moment. The Sacramento crew are a great cast of characters. I especially love Irina and Karl, they have kind of adopted both Daisy and Gideon into their very large family. Both are sweet but Irina definitely has a mummy bear vibe about her, Also I really want Irina recipe for her Honey cake.

In Say You’re Sorry there is two mysteries, one regarding Daisy and the other about Gideon past. They do connect slightly, I fell like one of the mysteries is a short game mysteries and the other is the long game. Both are engrossing in their own right, together they made me not want to put the book down.

One of the aspect I have always enjoyed about Karen Roses character is that they all have baggage.

They have physical or mental scars (sometime both). Although the character have these scars, she shows how you can cope and become stronger because of them. But that the characters do it in their own times. Like she Daisy has anxiety issues and has a service dog called Brutus that helps her cope. It’s a daily battle but is doesn’t stop her. Also that book has two dog character that just shows how amazing dogs are.

Karen Rose writing style is one of my favourites to read. It is like sitting down with an old friend as they tell you a really good story. The type of friend that when you hang out with you do not notice as they time flies by.

I can not wait to see which Sacramento character will be the focus of the next book.

My rating for Say You’re Sorry is 5 out of 5.
