The Last Namsara by Kristen Circcarelli was the book I received in my FairyLoot box, I kept on seeing so many good things about this book that really perked my interest in the book.
My synopsis of the book:
Asha is the daughter of the Dragon King of Firgaard, she was drawn to forbidden stories as a child. The consequences of her actions caused her to be badly burned by the First Dragon Kozu, and caused her Kingdom to be partly destroyed and may people to die. To earn her pence for her crimes, Asha becomes the most feared and fiercest Dragon Slayer in the land. In doing so she takes the title of Iskari an old God, known for being the destroyer, the death bringer.Â
Asha brings the head of every Dragon she Kills to her father the King, but nothing she does will every make amends for her past. Her father believes that in marrying his Commandant will help the people forgive her. The problem is the Commandant is a cruel man and once wed she will have no control on her life. Her father gave her one last chance for her freedom, in exchange for killing Kozu. With the help of a slave boy that belongs to her betrothed, but to truly save herself Asha will have to let of believing she is not Iskari, find the out the truth, and let people love her.Â
Reason I love this book;
- Dragons
- Kickass Asha
- Old Stories with power
- Did I mention Dragons
- Romance
- Fights
- Secrets and Lies
- Fantasy
I loved Asha as a character, she is a powerful female character, and that’s power doesn’t come from her looks. She has worked hard to prove herself against all odds, it’s also slightly heartbreaking that she is not accepted which make the moments between her and Torwin touching.
This books elicited so many different emotions while I read it, that it felt like my hearts was doing emotional somersaults.The book completely emerged into the story from the beginning, the world that Kristen Ciccarelli has created is a dangers and additive.
Once I had finished reading the book I was started looking to find out when the next book out. FYI Its called The Caged Queen and it looks like it will be published 1st September 2018. (although this could change.)
This book for me had a great message, do not let other people define who you are.
I give this book 5 out of 5
