Book Review: Kingdom of Ash (Throne of Glass #7) by Sarah .J. Maas

Hi Cara,

Kingdom of Ash is now out in the world, and its the final book in the Throne of Glass series. Throne of Glass was the first book series that I got into due to bookstagram its bitter-sweet to say goodbye. This review will contain no spoilers.

The last time we saw Aelin she had been captured by Maeve.

Month have passed and Maeve continues to torture Aelin, she wants the location of the Wyrdkey and a blood oath. Aelin will not break, she will stay strong for her family, friends and her Kingdom.

Rowen will stop at nothing to find his mate, his wife, his queen. He and his companions will travel the lands to find Aelin before it is too late.

Aedion and Lysandra are battle against Erawan’s hordes trying to protect Terrasen. As the hordes grow Aedion and Lysandra come to realise that allies that they have gather may not be enough to save Terrasen from the Valg.

Chaol, Manon, and Dorian are all own their own path, hoping to fulfil their oath to Aelin and end the Valg. The path they are on are dangerous, they will learn more about themselves as they work to creating a better world.

All path will lead them to fight for a better world.

Kingdom of Ash made me cry, laugh, broke my heart as well as made it sing.

I have come to expect certain things from a Sarah. J. Maas book and Kingdom of the Ash has it all;

  • Action ✔️✔️✔️✔️
  • Romance ✔️✔️✔️
  • Surprises ✔️✔️✔️✔️✔️
  • Magic ✔️✔️✔️✔️
  • Friendship ✔️✔️✔️✔️✔️
  • Drama ✔️✔️✔️✔️
  • Fae ✔️✔️✔️
  • Banter ✔️✔️✔️
  • Laughs ✔️✔️✔️
  • Deception ✔️✔️✔️

Kingdom of Ash is 980 pages long and told in multiple POV, which helps weaves this epic story. I love how we get closure on plot line from previous books.

In addition to all of the above, Kingdom of Ash answers some question you didn’t realise you had.

There are some amazing lines in the book, normally I would quote them, but I don’t want to spoil them for anyone. So you will have to find them for yourself.

The ending of a series is always hard to read, we have created attachment to these character and have hoped for certain ending. I was not disappointed with the ending at all.

My rating for Kingdom of Ash is 5 out of 5.
