Hello Amigo,
Today review is Book 10 in Chris Carter Robert Hunter Series Hunting Evil. Must of the books in this series you can read as stand alone, but as Hunting Evil is connected to An Evil mind book 6 in the series. I advise reading that first as it will give you more context from Hunting Evil.
As roommates at Stamford, Robert Hunter and Lucien Folter where two of the brightest miles to graduate with degrees in Psychology. After graduation the both take different paths. Robert has join the police and is the head of LAPD’s Ultra Violent Crime Unit. Lucien Folter decided to study the mind of serial killers by becoming one. Studying different method of murder to make his own serial killer encycopedia.
Three and a half years ago Robert and the FBI caught Lucien and locked him up. After spending all that time in solitary confinement, Lucien has escaped and his mission is revenge on this person that locked him away. He plans to make Robert Hunter suffer.
Hunting Evil is a gripping, fast-paced, dark crime thriller.
Hunting Evil is a more personal book, all the crimes are uses as a tool to break Robert. The book is split into Robert and Lucien POV, which heighten the tension of the book, as you do not know what Lucien is going to next.
Chris Carter background is in criminal psychology and it shows in his the battle of psychologist between Robert and Lucien. They are two sides of the same coin, both brilliant but using their brains in different ways. As Robert is the psychologist in the man hunt task force he explains Lucien behaviour, and why he is doing certain thing. This means you don’t feel stupid or that you are missing out.
Hunting Evil has it all for any crime thriller fans it has;
