Hi Banda,
Today is my stop on the King of Fools Blog Tour. Below is the tour graphic which shows every stop. I am the second to last stop, why not go and visit all the other amazing blogger.
Last year I was a part of Amanda street team ( Proud Scarhand) you can find me review for Ace of Shades HERE. I have also created an Ace of Shades quiz to test your knowledge of the first book, play HERE.
After saving Levi Glaisyer life in the shadow games, prim and proper Enne Salta has assumed the identity of Seance. The new and mysterious underworld figure, a leader of a new gang.
But the repercussion of the Shadow Game what leave Levi and Enne with bounties on their heads due to their part in the Chancellor of the Republic death. Now the must play the dangerous game of crime and politics, as they get roped into helping elect the next Chancellor.
One side is Vianca Augustine’s and the monarchist party and her estranged son Harrison for First party. Levi and Enne freedom and lives are at stake, who will they bet on the Mother or the Son.
Before they choose Enne and Levi will walk a path of unimaginable wealth, opportunity, new relationships and deadly secrets. This could quickly lead them into ruin. And when unforeseen players enter the game, they must each make an impossible choice: To sacrifice everything they’ve earned in order to survive. Or die as legends.
King of Fools is treacherous and bloodier than Ace of Shades. If you thought the stakes where high in Ace of Shades Enne and Levi has double down in the trouble department.
Ace of Shades only takes places over 10 days, where King of Fools takes place over months. I felt like I got a better sense of New Reynes. Ace of Shades is like visiting a place on holiday. King of Fools is your decided to live there.
My favourite new characters were a toss up between Grace and Tock, both strong female character with attitude. In the end if I had to pick it would be Tock, but that’s mainly due to her talent. I would pick blowing things up over math, if I could choose my talent.
Enne and Levi have both grown though out King of Fools, they have realised what they will have to sacrifice to keep themselves and their gangs alive. They have become darker than their were at the beginning. I wondering how this is come across in the next book.
The last 30% of King of Fools, I didn’t want to put it down. Drama and the danger ramped up. Its heart in your mouth moments. I may have been cursing Amanda name slightly when reading certain sections.
