Book Review: The Sixth Wicked Child (4MK Thriller #3) by J.D Barker.

Hi Cara,

Today review is regarding the 3rd and final book in J.D Barker M4K triller trilogy, The Sixth Wicked Child.

I have read the second book in the series The Fifth to Die and you can find my review here.

The 4MK case is finally coming to a conclusion.

For Detective Sam Porter and Anson Bishop, their pasts are connected to their future. More so when Anson Bishop hands himself in and tells a different story about the 4MK case.

Now the current investigation is spread between Chicago and South Carolina, murder cases in the past and present as well as an outbreak at the hospital.

Who can be trust?
Who is telling the truth?

These case will change the lives of everyone involved.

The Sixth Wicked Child surprised me nearly every page. It felt like a cat and mouse chase put this mouse is fully armed and not alone.

While writing this review I am going to be as general as I can, so I don’t spoil anything for the reader. As not knowing what is going to happen next is one of the amazing features of The Sixth Wicked Child.

As I don’t want to spoil the book, but if you guess what happens then either you are a genius or have a killer mind.

The book is told in multiple POV as well as the diary entry. The past and present weave together in a way that keeps the plot moving as well as cast doubt on who is good or bad.

I have several favourite elements from the book,

  • I like that the book picked up straight from fifth to die. But is you hadn’t read the previous books you could still understand the story.
  • Who can you trust.
  • Question what you believe.
  • More than 1 mystery on the go.

The Sixth Wicked Child is a perfect example of a well crafted gripping crime thriller.

I am looking forward to seeing what J.D Barker writes.

My rating for The Sixth Wicked Child is 5 out of 5
