Hi Cara,
Today on my blog I am reviewing Grave War by Kalayna Price. This is the seventh and final book in the Alex Craft Series.
Grave witch Alex Craft has forged an uneasy truce with the world of Faerie, but she’s still been trying to maintain at least some semblance of a normal life in the human world. So it’s safe to say that stepping up as the lead investigator for the Fae Investigation Bureau was not a career path she ever anticipated taking.
When an explosion at the Eternal Bloom threatens to upend the fae who make their home in our world, Alex finds herself in charge of the most far reaching investigation she’s ever tackled. And it’s only her first week on the job. With the threats mounting and cut off from half her allies, Alex can’t wait on the sidelines and hope the fae’s conflicts stay contained within their borders.

When I started reading Grave War I didn't realise that Grave Way was the final book in the series. But as the book came to its conclusion in the final third, it wrapped up in a way that surprised me but made me happy with the ending.
The book has a great mystery as Alex and the FIB deals with attacks on the doors to the fae courts. As it's Alex first day on the job we get to find out more about how the mortal area is split between the courts and how the doors work. Which I found interesting.
Regarding the characters in Grave War, normally I am a good judge of characters but one surprised me. But I enjoyed that type of surprise.
Overall Grave War has action, magic, romance, revelation and surprises which kept me hooked. Which caused me to read the book in one night. I will miss this world and its character but I am happy with its conclusion.
My rating for Grave War is 4.5 out of 5.
