Book Review: False Security (Death Before Dragons #5) by Lindsay Buroker

Hi Cara,

Today on my blog I am reviewing False Security by Lindsay Buroker. False Security is book 5 in the Death before Dragons series narrated by Vivienne Leheny.

Synopsis

I never thought I would date a dragon, or feed him chicken strips late at night, but life has gotten interesting.

My steady dragon—you may know him as Lord Zavryd’nokquetal, but I get to call him Zav—is offering to take me to the elven homeland to meet my father and learn to harness the magic in my blood.

Sure, I’m wary about his plans to force the elves to train me, but I need every advantage I can get. Especially when vampire attacks start cropping up all over Seattle, and my friend and business partner, Dimitri, disappears.

Unfortunately, my training will have to wait. If I don’t find my friend in time, I may never see him alive again.

Opinion

False Security had a great mystery alongside everything else Val is dealing with.

First off, the mystery regarding Vampires and Dimitri is interesting. Especially as higher up do not want it investigated.

Secondly, Val Bodyguard job. I like that even after she took the job, she still looked into why this guy sparked her shady radar. Also, the way in which Zav reacts when the press/people refer to Val as being this guys girlfriend. I feel that Zav is not far off from getting Val is my mate done in skywriting.

Thirdly, the visit to the Elven home planet. I liked seeing another world and introducing Val father into her life could impact future books.

Fourthly, the epic Dragon fight. I like how all the dragons that visit in False Security are very different in looks and personality.

Finally, there is more movement in Val and Zav relationship with some strong PDA moment. Which I liked reading as its steamy but also funny due to the people around them reactions.

My Rating for False Security is 4.2 out of 5.
