Hi Cara,
Today on my blog I am reviewing The Righteous by David Wragg. This is the 2nd and final book in the Articles of Faith duology, which started with The Black Hawks.
Bound by oath and honour, Vedren Chel found himself drawn to the heart of a deadly rebellion. With him stood the mercenaries of the Black Hawk Company, who were there for the money.
But their uprising was betrayed and crushed. Now, Chel and the sell-sword Rennic languish in prison, watching as their comrades are taken one by one for execution.
A daring escape will set them free, but with the forces of an entire nation arrayed against them, Chel and the Black Hawks must embark on a desperate search for new allies.
Journeying from frozen wastes to towering cities, from drug dens to lavish palaces, THE RIGHTEOUS is the thrilling and riotous second adventure from one of fantasy’s most exciting new voices.Â

The Righteous is still a foul mouth as The Black Hawks which I loved. It's one of my favourite aspects of the book. As when things are going wrong or you are frustrated it's rare in real life not to have a none pc rant. In the world that The Black Hawsk find themselves in, it's completely justified.Â
Another aspect I enjoyed with how the group has bonded over the journey. That they can argue and irritate each other, but they still have each other's backs.Â
Shout out the recap at the beginning of the book and its being told by a character really got me ready for the book.Â
Overall The Righteous has great action, character growth and humour to keep the books entertaining.
My rating for The Righteous is 3.8 out of 5.Â
Thank you to Netgalley and Harper Voyager for gifting me an ebook copy of The Righteous for an honest review.Â
