Hi Cara,
Today I am reviewing Ruby Fever by Ilona Andrews. Ruby Fever is book 6 in the Hidden Legacy series. I love listening to this series with the narrator Emily Rankin
#1 New York Times bestselling author Ilona Andrews is back with the newest book in the exciting Hidden Legacy series—the thrilling conclusion to her trilogy featuring fierce and beautiful Prime magic user Catalina Baylor.
An escaped spider, the unexpected arrival of an Imperial Russian Prince, the senseless assassination of a powerful figure, a shocking attack on the supposedly invincible Warden of Texas, Catalina’s boss... And it’s only Monday.
Within hours, the fate of Houston—not to mention the House of Baylor—now rests on Catalina, who will have to harness her powers as never before. But even with her fellow Prime and fiancé Alessandro Sagredo by her side, she may not be able to expose who’s responsible before all hell really breaks loose.
(Synopsis from Goodreads.com)Â
Ruby fever has everything I expect from the Baylor. family, and a good urban fantasy Romance book.
PLOT: There is a couple of different plot points happening in Ruby fever. As there is the investigation into an murders.and attack which leaves Cataline in charge. Arkan who Catalina and Alessandro have previously been chased. They also have to deal with Alessandro family Andrews has been really good at weaving all these elements together to create a fast paced interesting story. A couple of my favourite moments envolved a portuguse woman, one with catalina the other with Alessandro. Also love Matilda laying down the law with a Russian Prince:
CHARACTER:Â Catalina contines to evolve into an amazing strong women. I love her how she thinks through everything. That people still underestimate her.
Alessandro is still as charming, I like seeing the different sides of him but especially seeing his true sect with catalina. We get a New character in Russian Prince Konstantin, he brings an interesting dynamic. He plays the arrogant prince very well although there is more underneath. There are times I wanted to punch him in his pretty boy face.
WRITING STYLE:I really enjoy Rankin performance I Like the voices she gives all the character as it brings the characters to life. She makes it's easy to listen to and get lost in Andrews story.
THEME: Romance, Urban Fantasy, mystery, Murder, magic, family, betrayal.Â
OVERALL: Â A great way to end Catalina arch and I am interested to see more of Arabella.
My Rating for Ruby Fever is 4.3 out of 5.
