Hi Cara,
Today review is regarding Warrior of Altai by Robert Jordan. This book is Robert Jordan never been published before 1st novel. I haven’t read Robert Jordan previous series The Wheel of Time but the premise of Warrior of Altaii intrigued me.
Draw near and listen, or else time is at an end.
The watering holes of the Plain are drying up, the fearsome fanghorn grow more numerous, and bad omens abound. Wulfgar, a leader of the Altaii people, must contend with twin queens, warlords, prophets and magic in hopes of protecting his people and securing their future. Elspeth, a visitor from another world, holds the answers, but first Wulfgar must learn to ask the right questions.
But what if the knowledge that saves the Altaii will also destroy them?
Warrior of the Altair is a grand bloody fantasy.
It took me a little while to find my footing with Warrior of the Altaii. So much goes on in the beginning to introduce the characters and the world. I was unsure what the plot about. When this became clearer, I enjoyed the story. As it’s a battle of one group of people wanting to create an Empire and another not wanting to be destroyed.
The fighting elements were my favourite aspects as the way they fought was clever and interesting.
I wasn’t so keen on the representation of woman. They are ever slaves or powerful. They are no in-betweens. To punish free women they are made to renounce their freedom and become slaves.
My rating for the Warrior of the Altaii is 3.5 out of 5.
